Mission Statement

What is the Women in Analytics Conference?

The WiAC is an annual one-day conference that highlights and connects women data professionals for a day of networking and professional development. The conference is organized by women at Facebook and is free for attendees. This year's conference will be held April 12, 2019 at Facebook HQ in Menlo Park, CA.

Our Mission Statement

The Women in Analytics Conference aims to create a space for women in data professions to come together. We believe this is important for three key reasons:

- Representation matters: you can't be what you can't see. Representation affects not only how others view individuals from an under-represented group, but also how those individuals view themselves and the opportunities available to them. The WiAC serves to celebrate and showcase women leaders in data.

- Networking matters: peer-to-peer connections are a primary driver of career growth and the ability to access opportunities across companies, industries and seniority levels. The WiAC serves to bring together women from across companies to meet, mingle and connect.

- Learning matters: too often the day-to-day cadence of data jobs makes it hard to find the time to devote to learning about new approaches, techniques and problems. The WiAC serves to create that space for practitioners of data to share their craft with each other.

We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people.
